Join us for a special evening of “Yoga in the Dark” and Sound Bath Bliss, dedicated to raising funds for the Mark Pollock Foundation. Mark Pollock is a true inspiration—despite losing sight in one eye at age 5 and going fully blind at 22, he went on to achieve incredible feats. A bronze and silver medalist for Northern Ireland in the 2002 Commonwealth Rowing Championships, Mark has also conquered six marathons in seven days, completed the Gobi Desert run, and even became the first blind man to race to the South Pole. After a life-changing accident left him paralyzed, Mark created the Mark Pollock Trust, aiming to unlock $1 billion for paralysis research. Each year, he organizes “Run in the Dark for Mark,” and now we’re complementing his efforts with “Yoga in the Dark.”
Practicing yoga in darkness encourages a profound, introspective experience by heightening the connection between mind and body. Without visual distractions, focus naturally turns inward, allowing for enhanced breath awareness and deep relaxation. Darkness minimizes outside stimuli, calming the mind and inviting a sensory-rich journey where even subtle sensations become more vivid. Kundalini yoga, guided by the “guru” principle—meaning the teacher who brings you from darkness into light—helps deepen this journey, providing space to connect with inner calm and clarity.
Our session will feature Kundalini yoga and meditation, using the guru mantra to guide us from darkness to light. We’ll close with a soothing sound bath, allowing you to drift into complete relaxation, fully enveloped in a tranquil, renewing energy. Join us for this transformative event blending movement, meditation, and sound in an inspiring setting.
