Taking good care of yourself

Week 1 — Rest & Retreat

🌕 Beaver Supermoon – November 5

Theme: Permission to stop. Slow down. Refill your energy.

In yoga, the full moon represents completion, illumination, and reflection. It’s a time when prana (life force) peaks — best used for gentle movement, meditation, and surrender rather than exertion.

🌿 Focus for the Week

Settle in, keep things simple, and nourish quietly.

🥣 Soup: Golden Vegetable Soup — hearty and grounding with carrots, parsnips, and squash.
Why it fits: Katherine May writes about winter as a time to retreat and tend to ourselves gently. These comfort classics soothe both body and mind.

Tuning in

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo is the mantra we use to start our kundalini yoga practice. We chant this 3 times at the start of our yoga practice. Its is a mantra for protection and guidance and it helps draw us out of our busy worlds to tune in to ourselves.

Tuning out

This is how we end our Kundalini Yoga Practice with the Long Time Sunshine. Finishing up with the words Sat Nam which means I am, or honouring yourself. Following your path in life.

Healthy Food & Drinks Ideas

🫖 Drink: Elderberry Tea – Immune-Boosting Winter Tonic

Elderberries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, making this tea a natural immune defender

during the winter months. It soothes sore throats, supports recovery from colds, and fills your

kitchen with a sweet, comforting aroma.

Ingredients

• 1 tbsp fresh elderberries (or 1 tsp dried / ½ tsp powder)

• 1 cup water

• Optional: 1 tbsp dried elderflowers, honey or lemon to taste

Instructions

Remove stems and wash berries thoroughly.

Bring to a boil, then simmer gently for 20 minutes.

Strain, add honey or lemon if desired, and enjoy warm.

Tip: Combine dried elderberries and elderflowers for a ‘double elder’ immune-boosting blend.
